Ford is looking for 25 Rangers so it can repair a major defect
Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa is looking for the owners of roughly 25 Ranger bakkies built between October 29, 2024, to November 07, 2024, at its Silverton assembly plant in Pretoria.
The local arm of the US manufacturer has identified that in some of the affected vehicles, an incorrect front-lower control arm (FLCA) may have been fitted on the left-hand side of the vehicle.
An incorrect FLCA may cause a degradation in wheel control and related suspension/underbody noise, that is, knocking or clunking.
Separation of the joint may cause loss of control of the affected wheel, which may affect vehicle handling and, thereby, increase the risk of crash or injury.
The roughly 25 affected vehicles were sold in South Africa and Botswana.
The owners of these vehicles should contact their dealers to make the necessary repairs, which will happen free of charge.
